Confidentiality
Your confidentiality is an important aspects of counselling. What we discuss will remain confidential; however, there are legal, ethical, and/or operational exceptions to this when I must disclose information to the appropriate authority and/or third party. We will review these exceptions together.
Psychologists are required to write case notes for each session and maintain client files for a period of service plus ten years, after which time they are confidentially destroyed. Services are provided with clients' consent, but clients may cancel services or request a referral at any time. |
